The main subject of this research is the place of the Karaites in the Jewish society. Karaites do not believe in Talmud and put particular emphasis on reading Torah. Therefore, they were excluded from the main Jewish society. It seems that the oppression of this sect and a group called ‘Jewish apostates’ had been distorted in the Jewish record. This study aims to project this relatively unknown fact. The study implements historical research method by investigating the current academic literature as well as historical documents.
